A sapling is planted..
Grammangal was founded in Dabhon, a tribal hamlet in Dahanu Taluka of (then) Thane District
1985
- Grammangal initiated infrastructure development work with the help of the State
- Government to gain the confidence of locals
1986

The first balwadi was established in Dabhon under the able guidance of Anutai.
1990

Grammangal grows to 15 Balwadis in and around Dabhon
1996

To motivate local youth and spread the Grammangal methodology, a one year Bal-sevika

Training course designed by Maharashtra Bal-Shikshan Parishad is introduced in Aine
1997

Resource Centre for Teachers & Teacher Educators established in Aine.
1999

Residential school in Aine, “Muktashala”, started with just 14 students.

In the same year a pre-school (balwadi ) was set up in Vikramgarh, a small town in (then) Thane district, about 45 km from Aine

Concept of Subjects Laboratories was introduced in a school in Wai
2004

Learning Home, an alternative school for learning, was established in Pune
2008

Vikas Ghar, Grammangal’s supplemental after-school learning program, was started in Wai
2010

Shikshanvedh, a monthly magazine featuring discussions on current research in education, began publication.
